Ahhh…Mandy & Tony’s wedding. A day I will always look back on and laugh to myself about because it ended up being so ridiculously “Colorado” with the weather. The morning of, I woke up to fairly sunny skies and I was hopeful it would hold out despite the forecast. (Weather forecasts are typically wrong up here in Summit County by the way. Each mountain range creates it’s on variation on the weather so you never really know how much to believe the forecasters or not.) Driving to their Air BnB for getting ready it started to rain. Then a few minutes later, hail. Then it did that weird snow/hail hybrid I’m fond of dubbing “snail”. By the time I reached them it was back to hail. At some point during getting ready the sun came back out.
Mandy was a bit worried about everything and I wished I could have given her more reassurance than “at least in Colorado the weather changes quickly, so even if it is not the best, it should pass fast!”. Plus her quick thinking hubby to be, Tony, was already at Sapphire Point getting set up and had purchased several 10x10 canopies to cover everyone should the skies let loose again. Everyone was pitching in to get setup.
Of course during setup it was drizzly and chilly and foggy. Then right as the ceremony was about to start the sun burst through and it was warm and gorgeous! Hooray! As we went through the beautiful and heartfelt ceremony it, of course, started to rain again. Go figure. At least it was just a sprinkle. Although that sprinkle turned to snow. Yes, snow! The third official day of Summer and snow. Go figure.
Being from Arizona, Mandy joked that she had hoped for a little bit of a cool-down by coming to the mountains but never expected it quite like this! All we could do was laugh and enjoy the moment…which sure was a beautiful one. I think my favorite part was Mandy’s vows to her and Tony’s kids and how she told them how much she loved them, appreciated them, and was overjoyed to be officially joining their families. There was not a dry eye around. It was beautiful!
We wrapped up photos quickly as it was again, back to being chilly and snowing and headed back to their vacation rental for a little cake and bubbly to kick off their celebration. Eventually, the sun came out—again—and revealed a to die for view of the Tenmile Range and Breckenridge. We of course had to run outside while we could to commemorate the perfectly Colorado mountain wedding! Check out their photos below!
